Outfit Omissions

Wow, I am not so good with the outfit posts of late.

Pretty uninspired and basically just a mix of my last two outfit posts but this is what I wore on Thursday to work. This and the biggest "woe is me" expression you have ever seen. Flu hit home that day. Not that you can tell by the smile. Why I smile for pics when I am going to cut my head off is beyond me. It is just habit.

Most of the crap I have on - You know the drill
Singlet - Country Road

Not the best pic sorry, I lost the light. I fancied myself very House of Eliott 1920's loose layered couture in this outfit.

Now I see I must have been deluded by the flu drugs. I am reading the HOE book by Jean Marsh at present. First the good bits with Jack and Bea and then the whole thing through again. I must have forgotten I stopped reading and had out it down and was living my own life again.

Love, love, love my custom made Jet & Ruby necklace made by my friend Heidi.

And while we are talking fashion, I have had a sudden infusion of green into my wardrobe. Two spur of the moment eBay purchases on the weekend to cement the end of my short lived spending ban.

Yet another silk dress for work. By Karen Walker. Which I just realised will make me look like a tree.

Suit. Vintage Mel Clifford. Cate G's post convinced me I needed more cute suits. How I concluded  this bright green suit was anywhere neat par with Cate's glamorous Chanel-like number is beyond me but it is very flattering and better than my green/yellow/pink one so I will take it. Oh and it cost like thirty bucks so really a win all around.

Man, I really need to go to bed. I am getting dizzy. Nun night,

Beautiful Barkin Bargains

While house sitting what three weeks ago now, I very diligently took photos of my outfits. Large house, good lighting, lots of places to rest my camera, a full length mirror (for when I finally figured out how to turn my flash off) and a pretty garden were all very inducing factors to take pics.

At present, freezing weather, an entire work wardrobe in dire need of either a clean or an iron, absence of stylish young whippersnapper  (to borrow the term from the honorable FF) to "impress" and lack of care factor means work outfits are not worth a mention. For reference, today I am wearing an ill fitting Cue suit handed down from big sister circa 2003, a tatty see-through blouse with no undershirt (as I decided to forgo the ten minute search to find one in favour of getting back into bed and playing with my iPhone for a while) and a cardigan that clashes with my blouse. Sometimes it is just too hard.

Anyway, at the bottom of my laundry pile are these two dresses that I liked to show you. Both are from Barkins, I shop I have advocated in the past. Combined they cost $85. I think they are very fine and dandy. Click here if interested in purr-chasing.

WARNING: Do not be deceived by the cute little face of the doggie who joins me in these pics. This dog and her big brother "play fight" hard. All over the house and all over the person sitting on the couch. I still have the bruises to prove it!!

Dress Number One. Flintstone print dress. $49.95

Puppy 2 appears to have her game face on. I bet Puppy 1 is growling at her over to the right. I don't remember as this photo was taken before coffee and my brain would have been rendered useless.

Puppy 2, now distracted from play fighting, has decided to check out the crazy shenanigans "stranger who feeds us" is up too. Puppy 2 is confused.

Puppy 1 and 2 are now sitting quietly in the corner mocking my narcissism. They are very intellectually advanced for their ages.

Dress - Barkins

random space, brought to you by Blogger

Tights - crappy $5 ones Coles that laddered the second puppy licked my toe
Shoes - Nude Footwear, accidentally won on eBay but were a pleasant surprise

Dress Number Two. Shadow Print Dress. SALE $34.95

Puppies were used to photo taking by this time. This photo proves the ill effect running around on bitumen after litte Fi-clone cousin has on new shoes. They look positively squashed and this was the third time I ever wore them.

I love the pattern. Maybe a little tight at the bust just now. Look how shiny my face is and scraggly my hair is.

Dress – Barkins
Cardigan – Rodarte for Target
Shoes – RMK
Tights – Target, 2 for $7

Hooroo. Off to do the work dishes as secretary feels she is too good to do them. Not that I am bitter or nothing.

Harbour Town Haul

OK so maybe I lied. I didn't bring home a haul.

I bought home these gloves:

I do not even know what a "Cardio Fitness Glove" is for but they are cute and they were only $6 and they appeased my purchase envy. My friend K did take home a haul. Revenge to her hubby D for staying up all night playing Dungeons and Dragons. I am so glad I know D as we geek out together. Although I do not play DD - yet.

I may have been blogging this morning instead of getting ready for brunch (I do not think I have EVER been on time to meet K anywhere). So outfit was haphazardly put together by reaching into the back of my draws and pulling out whatever long sleeve top I could find. And what I found was my primp rabbit top. Circa what 2006? Circa Mischa being cool and hot and idealised enough for me to use that company Chic-something to get the top like hers shipped from the US at some exorbitant price. Oh Mischa, those were the days:

That being said, I did watch her SUV episode and she was pretty good in it. The acting classes in London have sure helped. Also, not playing being Marissa Cooper is always a step in the right direction.

So with historical top, I threw this outfit together:

Diamond studded bunnies. Hehehe.

Just admiring my clogs again. Not obsessed at all.

Needed a jacket for warmth. Soooo cold here.

Top - Primp
Jeans - Sportsgirl
Jacket - Arabella Ramsey for Sportsgirl
Belt - French Connection
Socks - ??
Clogs - Funkis

Saturday Sillys Style

To perform the below tasks, I had to wear something.

A few weeks ago, I got it in my head that I just had to have myself a long black skirt. Being short I know it is a big no no but whatever, embrace the frump I say. Now, a long black skirt is not as easy to find as you would think. I tried all the usual suspects and the closest I could find was a long dress from Supre, but it was thin and clingy and made me feel the size of a house (as only Supre can). I asked for suggestions, I searched online but it was to no avail.

Then last Saturday, I walked past the Good Sammy's. As I past, I had a thought. What about looking there? I literally walked straight to the skirt rack and picked up a long black skirt in my size for $4. It is Stitches brand, so decent quality and although it has a old lady style split at the front, I just wear it the wrong way around.

So with my new skirt, I decided this morning I would create an outfit.

At first, I decided to take my Funkis clogs and red socks for a spin ...

... but this looked wrong. The grunge (??) aesthetic of the top and skirt and the "clog" (??) aesthetic of the socks and clogs, didn't collaborate well ...

... so I decided to play it safe and add my black boots. Oh and a belt as I decided the top was too baggy for the skirt but couldn't be bothered changing my top ...

... I wasn't feeling this either. So I changed my boots and added a scarf as it is chilly here.

Love these boots!

Anywho ... after all that, I decided I hated the whole outfit but I was tired of the whole thing and couldn't be bothered changing again and it was already midday and I had many things to do, so I left the house in it. I said I had to wear something, not that it had to look good.

Skirt - Stitches
Long Sleeve Top - Tempt
Tank - MinkPink
Clogs - Funkis
Socks - ??
Black Boots - Tony Bianco
Red Boots - Soles by Nude Footwear
Scarf - Gift from India

PS. I apologise for the not-centred pics in the middle, blogger is misbehaving and randomly not centering a few of my photos for some reason. If anyone knows why, please explain. Thanks

Saturday Sillys - part two

Oh JB. Why do you have to keep changing your sections around all the time. I walked around in search of my favourite section for a good ten minutes fearing you had amalgamated it with the others until I found it.

And after my search all I really wanted to do was make sure the DVD I have wanted for over a year but refuse to pay the ticket price for was still there. It was.

So I looked at it for a while then went to find the DVD for my sister I was there to buy. I did gaze a second or two at the bargains but alas I can't stand DVD's displayed like this.

I may have been tempted by some Meryl movies that were nicely displayed on the Sale shelf:

I then donated to a great charity that buys instruments for disadvantaged kids. And in return I got this awesome air guitar.

Sorry to your neck, silly iPhone won't take the picture the right way up. Nor will blogger let me centre this pic.

Then while I was there I thought I would look next door for some smaller bathers but was dismayed to find this was all there was to offer.

In summer, the whole back wall is covered in swimwear.

I then had my fitting and discovered I am now a 16B. Is that not the strangest size you ever heard of?

This was followed promptly by a very expensive food shop. At least now I have lots of fresh food per my promise. See here is some evidence. My lunch:

Now to rug up, watch Prada and do some eBay listings.

Luv me, Fi :-)

Saturday Sillys - part one

Three pairs of Mileno shoes - leather and wide enough to fit my hobbit sized feet and bunions - for under $100. Thank you ozsale. I take back all the nasty things I was saying about you the other day. If you send my uggs post haste I will love you forever. It was apparently zero degree last night. And they say Perth doesn't get cold. Damn I miss my fat sometimes!

Shoes :-)

Must be a good day because I even snagged the lady at the post office so was not privy to the disparaging comments from post office man. How does he know I am not buying things for my business or my family or that everything I buy is a bargain! Damn you Mr Post Office Man for making me second guess myself. Hmm do you think I have buyers remorse much?

Toodleloo. Off to get some new bras as I can fit my whole fist into my bra and still some. Nigella and Winona are asking for some more support. And terror upon terror, I have no idea what size I am. This has never happened to me in my life. I berate girls who do not know what size they are!

WARNING - May be dangerous to your credit card balance

As an avid online discount store shopper, I subscribe to every shop under the sun (I will share these with you later but now I am on lunch so trying to get this out to the world STAT).

So Brands Exclusive  (where are my RMK ballet flats?) just emailed me about this new shop:

clickity click - you will need to change away from Perthtown if you don't live in Perthtown. To do this click "Today's Deals" in the top left hand corner and chose your city on the right hand side.

It took me a while to figure out how it works but here are some cheat notes:

1. There is a new deal each day for each city (ie. Discounts on food, activities, days spas)

2. There is a target number of people who have to BUY a deal for it to be activated

3. To BUY the deal, you enter your billing and cc details and increase the number of BUYS

4. If the target number of people BUY, then you “win” the deal and your credit card gets charged

5. If the target is not reached then you don’t “win” (although your cc is not charged so maybe you really do ;-)

Today’s deal for me (an apparantly every other state - edit: not Adelaide, Hobart or Darwin - they have surfing deals) is $20 worth of Wagamama’s for $7 voucher (valid for 12 months). BARGAIN!! So I therefore clicked “BUY”. 25/40 people have clicked BUY so we are nearly there.

Enjoy!!
