Professional ... Pfft

This is a  weekend bag for I purchased for myself off Ebay. As a child of the 80's I could not resist.

I have written before about my adoration for all things patterned with objects. I have even been psychic on the matter before so I just had to have this bag when I saw it, despite the $36 price tag (Ozale, Brands Exclusive, Buy Invite, Ebay, Gumtree - you have made me very cheap).

My usual "Mimco" (It's not that I can't afford a Mimco bag) bag is very heavy and usually packed full of everything but the kitchen sink, so for my poor backs sake, I needed something to carry while I am being dragged around the domestic housey shops by D on the weekends.

Somehow this weekend bag has turned into my everyday bag and I have been totting it to work everyday.

Seeing as one week ago today I became a real lawyer I should perhaps concentrate on being more professional.... But then where would the fun be in that?

Hmm, speaking of being professional, perhaps I should get back to work.

I have leave next week!! YAY.

Summer Steals - Part One

I can't wait for summer however me and the heat are not great friends.

I sweat like a pig, go as red as a pepper and steam can literally be seen rising from my head.

Despite my obvious need for easy, breezy summer attire, my wardrobe has always lacked anything resembling comfortable, cool and flattering summer clothes.

I can’t even remember what I wore last summer. There were some mid thigh denim boyfriend shorts. These must have been paired with t-shirts as Summer 09/10 was pre-WW no-arms-out days (aka. nothing to show the arm flab). I remember buying two navy jersey dresses and that floral Wish maxi dress that Facebook shows me I have worn to every summer event for the last two years.

Exhibit A - Uni Xmas 2008 (from the infamous, why do we all look like we are unpicking a wedgie photo)

Exhibit B - Admission Afters 2009

Exhibit C - H's going away party January 2009. At this stage I was about ten hours into the party, drunk on the beach and about to go swimming in my undies in the very questionable water never where Maccas used to be in Freo. Thanks to H for posting these photos about nine months after the fact. They do not show me best sides at all. Haha

Exhibit D - no photo but I wore this on the weekend with my purple Supre seven way cardi and Funkis Clogs. Repeat offender much.

My sister who lives in Darwin has mountains of pretty summer dresses. But then I suppose she has the income to throw hundreds of dollars away on little dresses.

My problem is that I have difficulty spending lots of money on summer clothes. And flattering, well washing, pretty dresses are hard to find on a small budget.

So for the last few weeks, I have been searching high and low for things to fill my summer wardrobe. And I can tell you, I am getting excited to wear these things.

This is what I have so far

Bali dress - FREE - gift from sister

Mink Pink shorts - $44.10 from Freez with 10% off code from Never Shopped Out

Jeanswest Dress - $16.50 Ebay

Topshop Dress - $10.50 Ebay

Nookie - at $134.95, not a steal but I couldn't resist the colours for summer

I also scored a scored a couple of dresses with the City Beach Surf 50% sale and from The Grandsocial Outlet.

Another untapped source is Gumtree. Three dresses and a skirt for $38. BARGAIN. And the seller is going to drop them off at my house so no shipping charge.

It is hard when there are so many gorgeous designer dresses but I just can't justify the $200+ price tags.

Now all I need is a few tops and some sandals and I am done... hopefully ... if I can curb my spending.
Wow what a pointless, boring post. Was kind distracted by Glee. Sorry

And yes I have been absent. I was going to write a big long post about my absence but I got half way through it last week and gave up. I do that sometimes … all the time. I also have a virus and feel very very lethargic. I walked across the road to buy Powerade this morning and it wore me out. Like, I had to sit down and rest for a good half an hour and drink my Powerade before I could concentrate on thinking about doing any work. I am soo thirsty all the time. How much Powerade is too much Powerade? I could drink five or more a day at the moment. Purse strings are restricting it to two though. And then I dream about Powerade. Sensitive spawn of a red-head me also has a nasty rash on my face. This is how my virus presented itself. I look like the mysterious woman who wears red lipstick on her cheeks as blush. If you are from Perth I am sure you know who I am talking about. There are so many rumors about this woman. My dad says she has scars and uses the make-up to cover it up. Others say she is a genius and was a businesswoman extraordinaire who is worth millions. Maybe she is just a little strange and is walking to beat of her own drum. Whatever the reason, I served her at my checkout for over four years and she was always very nice to me, and I hope I never starred at her too much. Anyway, I was being a tad dramatic about my rash. The steroid cream I have been smothering all over my face is working. Now I just have to wait for the infected layer of skin to peel off. Woe is me huh. Woe is life.

Good to be back, hope you are still enjoying reading me. If not, I will get over myself in time!!

Dayna's Day

Death is nothing at all
I have only slipped away into the next room
I am I, and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other
That we still are.

Call me by my old familiar name
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes
We enjoyed together.

Play, smile, think of me, pray for me,
Let my name be ever the household word that
It always was.

Let it be spoken without effort,
Without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant
It is the same as it ever was
There is absolutely unbroken continuity.

Why should I be out of mind because I am
Out of sight? I am but waiting for you
For an interval
Somewhere very near
Just around the corner .

All is well.

Canon Henry Scott Holland (1847-1918)

Dearest L, G and K,

I suspect that makes her happy too.

My thoughts are with you today.

All my love

Fidgeting Fi

Okay so I have not done a real post in a while. Not for lack for trying though. I have about six half written posts in draft, I have just not gotten around to finishing them.

This is the story of my life.

I have a very short attention span. I can’t stay still. And of late, I am finding it very hard to complete anything.

I spent three hours doing my tax the other night only to give up before the end as I needed to ask my dad something but he was asleep. Now I won’t lodge my return for another two weeks until he gets back from NZ.

My work to-do list is filled with about twenty pieces of work which are half done. These all need to be done by today but here I am writing this instead. Having too many things to do (regardless of the fact they will only take a few minutes to complete) stresses me out. So I don’t finish them.

A couple of weeks ago, I cleaned my room and sorted stuff into lots of different bags but the bags are still sitting on my bedroom floor.

This picture of my bed shows that I still haven’t finished adorning the final half of my bedhead. I started this in about February 2009.

So this is why I have not posted so much of late. I need to give myself a kick in the butt and finish my posts. Maybe. One Day.
Anywho... This is what I am wearing today. An outfit post?? How novel (sp??). The only thought that went into this outfit is.... I now have nothing that does not need ironing and this dress looks the least wrinkled of a bad lot.....

Ironing and washing is something else I never around to doing.

Please excuse my shiny face and frizzy hair.

And don't look at my little finger please.

I luv-uv ruffles

In other news, I just got an email informing me these beauties are in store at Frockoholics!! Nude Footwear and wedges. How could I resist? Oh yeah that’s how .... I am flat broke :-( Oh well a girl can dream. And perhaps have money next time she has to have half of her front tooth restored.

Do also look at the pretty Nude Footwear Spring Catalogue though. See that colour! Love. I can’t advocate for this brand enough. They are so comfortable, even for my hobbit feet. And I get compliments on them every time I wear mine (I have about six pairs mostly sourced from eBay for under $30 so watch for them).

That is all
