Wet Weather Ware

My mind and the weather are at one today. Stormy. There is so much fog and heavy rain up there, it took me ten minutes of scouring the office in search of my dictaphone to only find it was in its bloody dock the whole time. I have also been staring at this large pile of documents for over an hour now. TGIF.

We are all very god fearing here in Perth at present in anticipation of another “Great Storm” of 2010. Not that the first one was not “great”, coz lots of shit was damaged. The mentality of us Perthians is just amusing to me. So far there has just been lots of rain. A little hail this  morning but not much.

Anyway, to keep with my odd mood, I find myself sporting an odd outfit. Not only is this the third time I have posted this dress, the accessories are also wack.

I wore this to keep be warm while I walked from my flat to my car and then my car to my work. I have not taken it off. I am ever so stylish and professional looking.

Yes it is a soccer mum vest.

Busy Birthday Bash-ing

Sorry for lack of posting. I have has a huge birthday weekend. Alas, I have no photos to show for it. Or so I thought....

I just found this on my phone. This I believe is a photo taken by breasts (Nigella and Winona) while using the bathroom at the dinner party/games night my friend K held for me on Saturday night. See there is K's shower in the background, and I was wearing black, those hands look short and stubby and the glint in the top right corner could easily be my phone. As I rarely wear garments with pockets, I have a tendency to use what god gave me for storage. I have no recollection of this moment ever happening though. At least there is one surviving remnant of my 25th birthday. Oh the memories .... of washing my hands...

I also have some weekend outfits to post but this will have to wait until I, A locate the battery for my camera to upload them and B, regain enough mental capacity to post them.

I have managed a reworked outfit repeat today. As my entire wardrobe in currently adorning my bedroom floor this was the only thing that was in hands reach and did not require ironing (have I used this excuse before?).

However, as I am now old, I am having hot flushes, (can anyone explain why the yanks call them “flashes”??) the said dress needed to be taken off for a while. I was just walking around with the sleeves hanging down but then I had a brain wave to tuck them into the skirt and ta-dah, a new outfit is born… Until the flush goes away and I start freezing my arse off again.

Please wish me luck for my weigh in tonight. I have eaten sooo much and exercised sooo little this week. But you only turn 25 once right? I will be ok with putting on anything up to 1.5kg. I say this so I will be happy with my result when I don't put this much on. I will probably gain more though, given last two weeks have freakishly lost and then remained the same. Oh well I feel good about myself at the moment (bar the little incident at Supre but I am using my aging memory to suppress that one) so that is all that matters right. There is always next week....

 

What am I wearing today? This little Charlie Brown number is what I got on. T'was an Ebay buy. As were the RMK heels. I converted the black version of these babies for a long time but couldn’t bring myself to pay the $180 price tag. Then one day, I stumbled across these olive ones for $10. BARGAIN. They are actually very comfortable now I have lost some weight so they have had a few outings in the last few weeks.

These thick tights are a little shiny.

I also had a little surprise waiting for me when I got home last night. This High Society Dress by Ladakh from Freez. I only ordered it on Monday so YAY for fast shipping and great service. It’s a little transparent but nothing a good girdle and nude bra wouldn’t solve. Not sure how black tights will go under it (which is how I plan to style it mainly) but I should be able to counteract with a black slip.

I was not going to buy it. I loved it but I was going to wait and see If I was still thinking about it in a few days time (like every girl should). Then I befriended Freez on facebook (I thought there would be discount codes but alas). Then a girl I don’t know posted on Freez’s wall how she had bought the dress. Then I looked at it again and noticed they only had 3 left in stock. Then I knew, I HAD to have it. Now I see there are at least 9 in stock (go me).

It’s an okay dress I guess.

This is how I am going to style it. This all depends on me actually have a social life and having somewhere to go to wear it like this. I have a SATC fundraiser next weekend so maybe then. It will probably just sit in my closet looking pretty like most of my casual dresses that I can’t wear to work and that get pushed aside in my early morning weekend (I am talking like 10am here!) stumble out of bed grab some jeans and that tee that I don’t think is too smelly to wear out yet dressing rituals.
